How do I register new patients?

This covers how to register new patients and collect their consent for data privacy

Registering a new patient

To register a new patient, click on the ‘Patients’ module on the left sidebar. This action will open the patient list window as below. Next, click the ‘New registration’ button at the top right of the patient list window.

This will open the patient registration window. Fill in the form using the section headers. While capturing the patient's data, note that patients below 18yrs will have a mandatory ‘next of kin’ section.

Once all sections have been appropriately filled, proceed by clicking the top right corner "save changes" button.

Receiving patient consent

Immediately after successful registration, a patient consent pop-up will appear in red as shown below.

The red banner means that no consent has been collected from this patient.

.

Clicking on this text will then bring up a dialogue box asking for an OTP (One-time password) code sent to the previously registered phone number. Check both boxes and proceed to enter the OTP CODE given to you by the patient, click "confirm and save".

The yellow banner means that the patient was in no position to give consent at the time so registration did proceed without consent

The Patient Consent process is a necessary step in compliance with the Ministry of ICT regarding the storage of sensitive information on a cloud storage system. You should see a success pop-up on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen if done correctly.

Otherwise, you can request another OTP from the system using the ‘Resend OTP’ button in the dialogue box.
